Where is Your Treasure?

Where is Your Treasure? Matthew 6:19-21 (AMP) 19 “Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal. 20 But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal; 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

It is clear from Scriptures that there is a place of storage in heaven. Of course, there is also a place of storage on earth. I believe that God wants people to be blessed with heaven’s best down here while on earth; but it is more important to lay up treasure in heaven than to lay up treasures on earth where they are so vulnerable to decay and decrease. When we put our treasure into our heavenly bank account, it is not just for a rainy day but for eternity.

The Bible says, “the blessing of the Lord, it makes rich, and He added no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22 KJV). All that we have has come by the blessing of the Lord. In Christ, we have been given supernatural, divine favor, and we also have been able to get things in the natural at heavenly prices. With our heavenly account and the leading of the Holy Spirit we never pay the price that is on the sticker for anything we buy! Our faith is in Christ, not in man.

God doesn’t mind if you have a nice home, a nice car and all your needs met. However, He is concerned if you heart is in those things first and not the work of the Gospel of His Son, Jesus Christ. What would happen if those things were taken from you? Would you be totally devastated? Would you still look unto the Lord as the only source of your supply? If you have only invested in earthly things and not into heavenly pursuits, don’t be surprised when your “spiritual check” bounces.

In our lives, we have developed an attitude about everything we own. Lord forbid, but if we lost everything we currently possess; it would be very hard, but I know my God; He would keep us from stumbling and falling. I also know that He would restore unto us more than the devil had stolen. Our faith is not in the things we possess but in the favor and blessing of the Lord God Almighty!

When your treasure is in earthly things, you are in trouble! When your treasure is in heaven, you are always going to come out victorious. The devil will always come to check you out concerning your finances. He is looking to see if the Word is in your heart or in your head. If you are only mentally assenting to the Scripture, faith for your finances will never work.

You must act upon the Word of God when it comes to finances. The foundational way to have your finances blessed is to develop a mindset of giving. I’m not just talking about offerings, alms or tithing; I am talking about giving as a lifestyle in every area of your life. Don’t be like the world, don’t expect something for nothing. In the Kingdom it doesn’t come that way.

Luke 6:38 (KJV) “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” The world says exactly the contrary, “Keep hold of what you have because you are going to need it.” Heaven’s bank is not based on some savings and loan institution. It’s not linked to the world’s economy. You can have more than one hundred thousand dollars and you don’t need FDIC insurance. Our Father is watching our accounts diligently.

Instead of going around looking for somebody to give to you, go around looking for somebody you can be a blessing to. Don’t be like the world, looking for something for nothing. You are living in a make-believe world if you think that is how the blessing of the Lord will come.

Remember, there are two places to store up treasures, heaven and earth. The place where you store your treasures doesn’t go unnoticed by God. The Bible says. “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have showed toward His name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” (Hebrews 6:10).

When this realization becomes a part of you, you will be like a “Holy Ghost Rambo”. You will be able to survive even if you have nothing. No matter where you are in the world, the Word of God will work for you. You will be blessed and the hand of God will bring you forth. You will walk with the favor of God upon you. That’s why I always expect God’s best at heavenly prices.

We have to transfer our riches from the earth below to heaven above. Always keep in mind that your home is not here in earth but ultimately it is in heaven. Everything you use on the earth is just a means to a greater end. You are just stewards of what God has given you while you are on earth. This earth is just a temporary residing place. You are on your way to a fairer land. Your true treasure is not on the earth; it is in heaven. Stay Blessed
